Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Wyatt Dean Hall Join CHRISTOPHER ROBIN Voice Cast!
Production is now underway with Disney’s live action adaptation of Winnie the Pooh titled Christopher Robin. The film is continuing to add talent with songwriter Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Wyatt Dean Hall voicing Kanga and Roo.
Kristen Anderson-Lopez is no stranger to working with the Disney Company as she has voiced Kanga in 2011’s animated Winnie The Pooh, as well as compose and co-write songs for the movie with husband Robert Lopez, they also wrote songs for Frozen (Which earned them an Academy Award and 2 Grammy wins) and Frozen feature. Anderson-Lopez will compose Disney’s animated feature Gigantic coming 2020.
Wyatt is also not a stranger to Disney voicing Roo with Anderson-Lopez in Winnie The Pooh, and again voicing the character in the Disneyland Kinect video game.
Marc Forster (Finding Neverland) is directing the movie, which stars Ewan McGregor as the title character, the little boy from the Winnie the Pooh series who’s now all grown up and has lost his sense of imagination. Thankfully, Pooh and his friends re-enter Robin’s life to help him find it once again. Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter) will play McGregor’s wife, while Bronte Carmichael (On Chesil Beach) will play their young daughter. Mark Gatiss, who plays Mycroft Holmes on the hit BBC series Sherlock, will play McGregor’s boss, who keeps him working long hours that take a toll on his family.
Jim Cummings will once again voice Pooh, with Brad Garrett voicing Eeyore, and Nick Mohammed (The Martian) voicing Piglet. Tigger has yet to be cast but it’s being reported that the studio was looking at Dustin Hoffman and Martin Short for the role (both have passed). Alan Tudyk who has been Disney’s animations own John Ratzenberger has expressed interest in voicing the character as well.
Christopher Robin hits theaters on August 3, 2018.
Poduction is currently taking place in England.
